in just a few days (on feb 14th, to be exact) i leave for a trip to korea that will last until april 3rd. im both extremely nervous and excited! i have no clue what to expect. ive only been out of the country once, and that was to go to canada.

we are going there for a cousins wedding! ive never met most of my korean relatives so itll all be new people to me. my mom and i are staying longer than the other members of our american family because she wants to share that experience with me and re-experience korea for herself, as its been many years since shes been there.

im a little anxious about how ill be perceived, being a half korean, half ethnic jew, raised in america that only knows snippets of korean. ive been thinking this for awhile but its still going to be so strange, because in america people associate me with the fact that im korean, but when ill be in korea, people will associate me with the fact that im american.

my cat of 12 years passed away recently. due to vet bills im now a few thousand dollars in debt. i lost my job because i wanted to prioritize spending time with her before we had to say goodbye.
